George Noory on Dreamland

Talking-to-the DEAD is another thought provoking book.
Of course, not all spirits & entities are on a benevolent wavelength.

The Thing, 2011, 1981, 1951

"Kate and Carter see the Sander-Thing driving off in one of the Snowcats and give chase in the remaining vehicle. They follow it out to the wreck of its ship, which has been opened up and restarted, slowly preparing to take off. Kate and Carter are separated once again and Kate encounters the Thing. She was chased down and managed to stay out of its reach. When the Thing finally catches her, she destroys it with a grenade and caused the spaceship to explode also. She and Carter escape and make it back to the Snowcat. As they are preparing to leave, Kate notices that Carter is missing his left ear piercing and determines that he is one of the Things. Despite his protests, she burns him and destroys the Snowcat. Kate slowly climbs into the remaining Snowcat and stares blankly into the night.
The next morning, a Norwegian helicopter pilot, Matias (Ole Martin Aune Nilsen), arrives at the camp and finds the facility burned and deserted, as well as the charred remains of the two-faced Thing. It is revealed that Colin went into the radio room and committed suicide by slitting his wrists and throat. Kate's fate is unknown and Lars, who has survived hiding in the building where Derek and Carter attacked him, shoots at Matias but recognizes that he is human after checking his fillings. At that moment, the Thing in the form of Lars' dog bolts out of a ruined building and runs away. Lars fires at it, then orders Matias to take off in pursuit. Lars begins shooting at the animal from the helicopter."
-
The Thing, is an interesting prequel to the 1982 film. In addition to the CGI scenes, movies still require real sets & props to be constructed. After all, if a movie is over 90% CGI, it may as well be a cartoon. Most comic book themed movies still use real actors & physical props & sets. Perhaps a 50-50 proportion still helps to keep the CGI effects more as an enhancement to the movies overall visuals & storyline. The-Thing-2011 isn't for everyone because its a serious monster movie. The 2011 movie extends into an earlier part of the storyline. The 1950s version was OK for the time, but the 1981 version was able to use more props & special effects for more of an exciting horror movie. The 1951 movie is like a storyboard & a primer for the later 2 movies.
While the creature in The Thing movies can appear humanoid or even become a clone of any life form, the creatures in Apollo 18 have no need to imitate the human form.
-
The Thing is about an organism that can absorb & imitate other beings, Splice also features a horrific theme. An genetically engineered chimera or composite spices that escapes from the lab.

Edward Asner

Edward Asner is an angry old man for serious reasons.
  • Ed Asner

"Alex returns to the airwaves with an interview of film, television, and stage actor Ed Asner, who will talk about the current state of national and world affairs. Asner is famed for his portrayal of Lou Grant, the hard-bitten newspaper editor on the popular television series of the same name. Asner is the only actor to win Emmys for both Comedy and Drama. His show was pulled from CBS after he signed a letter seeking to raise funds for medical aid to rebels in El Salvador in 1982..." www.infowars.com , http://www.septembereleventh.org/alerts/asner.php , http://www.infowars.com/ed-asner-tv-ad-promotes-ae911truth/

Alex also talked with Ed a little about JFK & the movie.

"Edward Asner as Guy Banister, a career member of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and a private investigator. He was an avid anti-communist, member of the Minutemen, the John Birch Society, Louisiana Committee on Un-American Activities, and publisher of the Louisiana Intelligence Digest" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JFK_(film)#Cast

"All of these steps caused him to be regarded as a virtual traitor by elements of the military-intelligence community. These were the forces that planned and carried out his assassination. Kennedy himself said, in 1962, after he read Seven-Days-in-May, which is about a military coup in the United States, that if he had another Bay of Pigs, the same thing could happen to him." http://www.huffingtonpost.com/oliver-stone/jfk-and-the-unspeakable_b_243924.html

The Blob & Other Shapes & Forms of Energy

The Blob entity could be a form of extremophile, as the movie is about an organism that can survive the vacuum & coldness of space & the heating upon entering the earth's atmosphere. Even impacting the earth at terminal_velocity doesn't kill The Blob. The movies depicts that its an organism from space, but doesn't indicate if its a natural life form or an engineered blob to consume the life on any planet that its sent to.

APOLLO 18

For many, Apollo 18 might be viewed as just another sci-fi space movie, or The BW Project in space. It does touch upon the secrets on the moon theme. http://missioncontrolblog.org
Apollo 18 can also motivate many to ponder the mysteries of the universe & realize the control of information on earth & other places. Curious people continue to research ancient as well as modern accounts of ET encounters. http://lunaranomalies.blogspot.com

The song And_You_and_I by Yes, is appropriate for this movie which is set in the early 1970s. YES is a versatile band that has been around in one form or another since the late 1960s. http://www.yesworld.com/biography.aspx
-
LunaCognita is one of the best sites ever created for examining various shapes & anomalies around the moon & in space. There has been a tremendous amount of censoring of film & the editing of other images through the years. Whatever has been found on the moon remains top secret, perhaps since ancient times as far as the general public is concerned.
-
Curiously, several moon rocks have gone missing over the years.

More & more cities around the world see the value & importance of gathering places for people to check out comics, movies, TV series, novels & the overall plethora of entertaining sci-fi media.

But its not all about sci-fi entertainment, several people have had all sorts of paranormal encounters & experiences. Gathering places where people can talk about paranormal phenomenon & out of this world stuff have also become very popular. Such as, the seattlechatclub.org, the bayareaufoexpo.net & the LA consciouslifeexpo.com .

The Thing (1982)

"An American Antarctic research team stationed at the United States National Science Institute Station 4 (or Outpost 31) is alerted by gunfire and explosions. An Alaskan Malamuteis trying to evade a Norwegian helicopter with an on-board rifleman frantically trying to kill the dog. The helicopter lands, and the pilot (named Matias in the prequel film) attempts to volley a thermite charge, but accidentally drops the grenade. He tries to pick it up but dies in the subsequent explosion, destroying the helicopter in the process. Unable to communicate with the team in English, the rifleman (named Lars in the prequel) who survived the explosion fires at the dog, grazing George Bennings (Peter Maloney), one of the researchers. Lars is shot and killed by Garry (Donald Moffat), the station commander.
Not knowing what to make of the incident, the station crew adopts the dog, placing it in the hands of Clark (Richard Masur), the sled-dog handler..."
-

The 2011 movie is an interesting expansion of the story taking place before the events in the 1982 film. The 1951 movie still provides a general outline of the story, but with simple special effects. John_Carpenter was wise to tap into the novel, as a result directed one of the best horror films.

THING FROM ANOTHER WORLD TRAILER 1951

-
Who_Goes_There?, the 1938 story is quite fascinating for the time that it was written. The story reaches back about 20 million years when the ship containing The Thing had crashed on earth. The book & the last two movies take place in Antarctica.
-
Here is a link offering a skeptical perspective. http://www.uwgb.edu/dutchs/pseudosc/piriries.htm
For many the discovery of an ancient map of Antarctica proves nothing more than what the legend of Atlantis does. Its OK to think the the earth is more than a few billion years old. Yet, if one ponders that civilization may have made the climb from stone age to space age much more than once, over the past several hundred million years, opens up a lot to think about. Its a fascinating time aspect of the novella story that became The Thing movies. The book goes back 20 million years, where as the movies set the crash around a hundred thousand years ago. Other than sci-fi & legends, humanity isn't suppose to think about the possibility of very ancient life on this & other worlds. http://www.history.com/shows/ancient-aliens,

There could be several kinds of benevolent beings from this & other dimensions. However, it only takes a small percentage of menacing entities to cause a lot of problems.

Implications of The Source Code

"Meanwhile, at the Nellis Air Base, Goodwin discovers that, unlike Rutledge's previous affirmations, the Source Code's activation does lead to the creation of new timelines due to the manipulation of Quantum Physics, and that, in the new timeline created by Stevens' actions, there is another Colter Stevens, still being kept alive by Life Support, awaiting to be activated for his first Source Code mission, as the train disaster never happened." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Source_Code_film & possible_television_series
-
The Nellis Solar Power Plant is one of the more obvious projects in such a highly classified area. - Captain Colter Stevens (Jake Gyllenhaal) father's voice was from Scott Bakula, who was the star of the Quantum Leap (TV_series).
Of course, Jake Gyllenhaal was in another fascinating time travel multiverse movie back in 2001. http://www.donniedarkofilm.com/ , Donnie_Darko.
-
The Déjà Vu_(2006_film)#Plot & The_Butterfly_Effect (2004) also had some interesting implications of time travel & multiverse elements.
-
In 1998 the Seven_Days_(TV_series) started , not exactly an update to The Time_Tunnel TV series (1966), but their story lines were both connected to a secret base in a Southwestern desert.
The parallel-universe-concept is quite a common theme.
-
So when does the simulation become the symbolic platform that's indicative of a much larger reality? This is why the symbolic concept of a Holographic Universe can help to visualize & ponder the complex immensity of the universe. I like to think of the universe as having several levels that are part of a Multiverse. Suppose each galaxy is like a DVD that not only contains data, but also consciousness & a multitude of various lifeforms. Science & fiction continue to explore & imagine what is possible. Perhaps most people believe that there was an original creator or natural force of consciousness that set the universe into motion. Such cosmic structure seems to be organized like its a running program. The ancient concept of an akashic-record for each galaxy & the universe is not only fascinating but astounding. Its only been since the later 20th century that computer models could be used to start to map & interpolate the known parts of the cosmos. Many people remain skeptical of anything resembling an akashic record or cosmic source code. That's why analogies, metaphors & symbolism can be used as thought experiments for even the most skeptical of people. Indeed, a true skeptic would need substantial proof that people can access akashic data from the past or the future, otherwise known as precognition. Several people are also uncomfortable with the pastlife concept. Because if its a true phenomenon, that would imply that ones consciousness returns here or elsewhere for several life experiences. There are amazing implications about time travel into the past. Its one thing to go back to an earlier point of a film, video tape DVD or hard drive, but to travel days, years or centuries into the past would reveal that the traveler is in some kind of recording. -

Fire in the Sky: The Travis Walton Experience

The Travis Walton Experience
Travis-Walton presents an astounding case of temporary abduction because he was released in days, not months or years.
-
The default perspective for many is that such a thing isn't possible, because earth is suppose to be the only place with intelligent life, so humans have no communication with any ET life. Whitley Strieber & many others have had encounters & situations that can't be accepted by the skeptical POV. However, if one is truly curious about researching such phenomenon they my find that their POV will become tremendously expanded. www.openminds.tv

The Adjustment Bureau, etc.

The Adjustment Bureau (2011) provides an interesting take on the men in black theme. The Observer on Fringe is another variation of the MIB theme in media. http://fringepedia.net/wiki/Observer_Appearance , http://www.fringebloggers.com/the-observer-files/ Unlike the ones in The Adjustment Bureau that seem to have hair, The Observers on Fringe are always bald. Where as the MIB movies show them with hair & no hats. http://www.freewillorfate.com/ , http://www.huffingtonpost.com/cathleen-falsani/the-god-factor-does-god-c_b_833118.html

Richard Ashcroft was born in 1971 on 9-11, so its very interesting that he would eventually become involved in a song about life and death & some mysterious beings orchestrating various things behind the scenes. http://www.theadjustmentbureau.com/yourlifeadjusted ,

If the earth & the universe is the result of an unfolding plan or a running program... then there should be all sorts of clues about reality & various entities. The Adjustment Bureau provides an interesting depiction of advanced electronic (paper) or ink. I really liked the depiction of what looks like traditional books, but is also nanotechnology that's tapping into the cosmic source-code. The Adjustment Bureau is a fantastic movie with some interesting clues about what's in the background & behind the scenes of reality. http://www.theuniversesolved.com/theuniversesolved/yetanotherforum/yaf_postst544_The-First-Programmable-Nanoprocessor.aspx

Cloverfield (2008)

Even a few years since the release of Cloverfield lots of people would like to see a sequel about a giant beast on the loose. Monsters continue to be depicted in so many shapes & forms.
The Exorcist isn't a monster movie, but it is about a monstrous force that can interact in the physical world causing death & destruction.
