Although today its no big deal to seriously consider the possibility of spherical vehicles, some people apparently saw them hundreds of years ago.

The flying round or oval shape is a tough one for many to digest, because like a tube or sphere, there are no wings or exterior propulsion system. At Visoki Decani there is the Crucifixion_of_Christ that dates back to around 1350. There is a tear drop shaped craft pursuing a triangular bubble craft. Of course, The Jetsons cartoons depicted flying or levitating vehicles with bubble windows. Even some conventional aircraft featured bubble like windows by the mid 20th century, but not in 1350. Several old & ancient paintings, drawings & carvings depict aircraft & spacecraft that might have been seen at the time.
Officially, only the earth is suppose to have a technological civilization & humanity hasn't made the climb from stone age to space age more than once. There aren't suppose to be other more advanced civilizations from other worlds, because too many people would ask too many questions about reality. Thus, the one life on one world remains as the official situation. Also, the concept of time travel remains as a limited idea, otherwise people might start to think that they are within an interactive recording & projection of space & time.
